LED Light – Skin Tightening

Work by NASA proposed that Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) had potential benefits for the medical community. Using this knowledge, coupled with the understanding of how light interacts with the body, new LED devices came on the market. Blue light kills acne bacteria. Red light stimulates collagen formation and helps beat inflammation.

What can I expect from LED light treatments?

It depends on the specific skin condition you’d like to treat:

  1. Skin rejuvenation tightening treatments using red and near-infrared light have a significant effect on periorbital wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture, and bestow the skin with a healthier and more vibrant look.
  2. Combining blue and red light helps reduce the bacteria that cause the redness and inflammation of acne. It helps reduce the redness of acne lesions and promotes healing, resulting in clearer and healthier skin.

Advantages of LED light

  • Stimulates the body’s cellular mechanisms via photomodulation.
  • It’s not a laser or an IPL, so no heat, no side effects and no downtime.
  • A non-invasive, non-ablative, safe therapy.
  • No damage to sub-dermal tissue.
  • A relaxing and calming experience.
  • Allows treatment of large areas such as the face and chest.
  • Simple to operate.
